Localisation

What Is Localisation?

The Oxford Dictionary defines localisation as ‘the process of making something local in character or restricting it to a particular place’.

My aim is to make your text sound as idiomatic as possible to a reader of UK English, without them ever realising that it was not written by a native speaker. My understanding of the UK’s varied cultural and context-dependent nuances means that, if localised successfully, my work should be invisible to the reader.

When you ask me to localise your document, I will:

•    Adapt spelling, grammar and phrasing as necessary
•    Perform other edits according to your brief
•    Highlight any changes I make using Adobe Reader’s mark-up tools or Microsoft Word’s Track Changes tool

How Much Will Localising Your Document Cost?

Localisation projects are charged per hour.

Additional charges may be applied to meet urgent deadlines, or for evening or weekend work.
