My Qualifications

Postgraduate MSc: Translation Studies: Translation and Professional Practice
University of Glasgow | 2014

My MSc dissertation project, which achieved a distinction, focused on the partial translation of the French medical textbook Pathologie neurologique périnatale et ses conséquences (2010) (Perinatal Neuropathology and its Consequences) by Claudine Amiel-Tison and Julie Gosselin.

Selected chapters were translated for a medical professional audience and they took the form of a medical textbook. These chapters were then retranslated for an audience with no medical knowledge and took the form of a magazine article.

BA (Hons) Spanish and French
University of Strathclyde | 2013

As part of my undergraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde, I spent eight months in Seville, Spain, working as an English language assistant at a primary school. I also received the prestigious Stevenson Scholarship from the University of Glasgow. Utilising these funds, I was able to start a reading group with students to improve their level of English. I also successfully completed a French to Spanish translation course at the Universidad de Sevilla. This allowed me to fully immerse myself in the Spanish language and culture.
